What does BM Stand for in Gaming

A gaming term that refers to ungentlemanly conduct before, during, or after gameplay. Abbreviated for “Bad Manner” such as not wishing good luck before the game, sledding the other player and typing something offensive to the other player if it’s an online platform during the game, refusing to shake hands, and acknowledging the other player’s win perhaps congratulating them after the game.

If someone replied to you with a ‘BM’ in or after the game. They simply meant that you didn’t behave in a sportsmanlike way and were offensive to them or any player in the game. BM does not only refer to being rude to the other player but also if you’re not playing in a proper way which can include –

1. Deliberately helping the opponent team.
2. Cheating
3. Killing your team members
4. Not playing according to the set rules
5. Abusing the opponents when they get a kill on you
6. Ranting in an offensive way
7. Leaving the game midway as you lose.

Although these days people get hurt for just about anything so it is quite often that you may see the BM card being used on you. But as long as you’re not being rude and not doing the above-said things then clearly, you’re not doing anything wrong or deserve so much to be given a BMtag.

Usually, BM tag is seen in Online Gaming as people are now more inclined towards online games especially video ones. Since that is a virtual platform, players usually sled each other and act improperly and offensively which can truly hurt the sentiments and sportsmanship of the other genuine players.

It’s better not to say anything offensive to any other player and rather play the game like a true sportsman so that one feels good about themselves and also acts as an inspiration to others.
